A blend of País and local varietals Pink Moscatel, Cristal and Cuyana, grown on clay dominant soil. A light red/dark rosé of sorts from 30-100 year old vines. Grapes are de-stemmed and pressed (using Zaranda) then macerated for 10 days before ageing in old oak barrels. No filtration, sulphur or external yeasts are used. This wine is dominated by smoky red fruit, dried herbs and florals. The tannins present are enough to create tension between the acidity and the gentle salinity. Worthy of entry into the dark rosé canon alongside the likes of Susucaru (older vintages...). Highly expressive and full of pure joy.
