100% Gamay from the south of Beaujolais, vineyards both in Brouilly and Sarcey whose soils consist mainly of blueschist. Blueschist has a complex makeup including but not limited to Basalt, Granite, and Limestone. The grapes here see carbonic maceration and time in both fiberglass and old barrels.
Given this relatively rare terroir, it's not surprising that Patrick’s Gamay comes off as entirely unique and complex. Crushed purple rocket candies, blueberries, woodsy thyme with subtle ashy minerality are mainstays on the nose. The palate carries the dried herbs through but brings light balsamic strawberries and a rocky, textural sensation to compliment. Burgundian and captivating in its level of depth. Incredibly rewarding from front to back.
